Chemical Peels
The Cosmelan Peel
The Cosmelan Peel is a professional depigmenting treatment designed to reduce hyperpigmentation, including dark spots caused by melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, solar lentigo, and freckles. It is recognized as one of the leading methods for treating skin discoloration worldwide. The treatment involves a unique combination of active ingredients that work both on the surface of the skin and at its deeper layers to correct and prevent the overproduction of melanin.
What Does It Do?
The Cosmelan Peel provides a dual action: it visibly reduces existing pigmentation while also regulating melanin production to prevent future spots from forming. The process begins with an intensive depigmentation phase where a thick mask containing various active ingredients such as Azelaic Acid, Kojic Acid, Phytic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Arbutin, and Titanium Dioxide is applied by a trained professional. This mask is left on for 6-12 hours depending on individual skin type and condition.

When can i see results?
After the initial application, patients follow up with a home care regimen that includes products like Cosmelan 2 cream to maintain results and further inhibit new pigmentation. Results can be seen within one to two weeks after treatment, with up to a 95% reduction in pigmentation observed within 30 days.
Downtime
One of the appealing aspects of the Cosmelan Peel is its minimal downtime compared to other chemical peels. Patients may experience some redness or tightness immediately following the procedure; however, this typically subsides within a few hours to days. There may be mild peeling or flaking as the skin renews itself over time. Most individuals can return to their normal activities shortly after treatment but are advised to avoid direct sun exposure and use high SPF sunscreen diligently during recovery.
